Inhouse Welding Technology

Cecon has been involved in a number of pipelay projects where both carbon steel and CRA materials have been used.

In addition, Cecon's key individuals have been involved in a variety of rigid pipelay projects, both S-lay and reeling, including pipe-in-pipes, and other activities such as trenching and backfilling and heavy lifting operations.

Until now, for rigid pipelay with modular spreads, Cecon has used in-house welding technology through its subsidiary Reellay AS. Reellay AS has an exclusive cooperation agreement with Welmax Pipewelding. This cooperation has existed for more than 12 years and has covered major projects of pipelaying. Among those to be mentioned are the Tune / Visund project where 13% Cr was utilized.  Various material combinations with 13%Cr has also been performed for Aker Solutions through the last years.

This strategy to use the best of the available market combined with an excellent in-house welding knowledge makes Cecon ahead of many competitors.
