WELDED PIPE QUALIFIED FOR REELING

At the end of 2005, Cecon through subsidary Reellay AS, together with Brazilian Pipemill Apolo, carried out a full scale reeling and straightening test at the laboratory of the university in Rio de Janeiro, qualifying the line pipe according to:
  
The line pipe is fully qualified for sub sea installation utilising the reel-lay method where the pipe undergo plastic deformation and straightening process equal to seamless pipe.
Due to the forming process, the dimensional tolerances outperform the seamless pipe tolerances.

Benefits over seamless pipe: Delivery time and cost.

 

Visit of Oil- and Energy Minister to Cecon.



The Oil- and Energy Minister, together with a delegation from the Ministry visited Cecon and was briefed on current activities.
The visit was in connection with a series of visits to the industry in preparation of a paper on future oil- and gas activities.
